Our company is looking for a *Linux System Administrator, HPC* (High
Performance Computing) to join our team in Monterey, CA. This position will
be supporting a government customer, hence only US Citizens may apply.



Our client's High Performance Computing team provides project and research
support requiring high-level computational capacity.  The *Linux System
Administrator, HPC* (High Performance Computing) will act as lead for HPC
systems including; servers, switches, backup systems, and disk arrays, with
an emphasis on MPI and Hadoop software stacks.


*Responsibilities:  *
- Install and maintain user applications, system patches and libraries
- Coordinate with other HPC team members to prioritize and accomplish
assigned tasks
- Provide and implement recommendations for improved performance, including
the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies
- Implement highly available storage systems using various filesystems
including Lustre, ZFS, and ext3/4
- Implement tape archival systems to ensure retention of critical data
assets
- Implement system security hardening in accordance with established
information assurance policies
- Prepare technical briefings
- Create and maintain online documentation for users, develop and maintain
up to date SOPs on system design and software architecture of HPC systems
- Respond to user requests for assistance
- Support the development and refining of scheduling policies for the batch
queuing system (currently MOAB / PBS / Torque)
- Provide support for Infiniband interconnect
- Provide support for GPU computation


*Requirements: *
At least 5 years of recent demonstrable experience with the following:

   - Working with thousand-core order-of-magnitude computer clusters
   including system administration of MPI software stack
   - System administration of Redhat / CentOS Linux operating systems
   - Tape archival systems
   - Installation of compilers and application software
   - License managers
   - GPGPU–based computers including relevant software



At least 1 year of recent demonstrable experience with:

   - System administration of the Hadoop software stack
   - Lustre or equivalent filesystem (eg. GPFS, CEPH FS, BeeGFS, ZFS)
   - Working knowledge of InfiniBand or similar high speed interconnect
   concepts and related performance monitoring highly desired
   - High-speed network interfaces (10 Gbit/s or more)
   - SLURM batch queuing system
   - Experience creating and delivering presentations to various audiences
   - Experience creating written user documentation
   - Ability to create and deliver presentations to various audiences and
   the ability to provide written user documentation
   - Security + or other IATII equivalent certificate preferred
   - Redhat / CentOS Linux administration certificate preferred
