> OVERALL FUNCTION
> 
> The Global Climate Program at EDF seeks a highly motivated, creative, but organized and rigorous, analyst to join EDF’s Sacramento, CA office. The Analyst will be a key member of the team focused on our work in Mexico, conducting research and analysis Mexico and California climate and energy policy, as well as providing broader support to the team’s climate policy objectives in Mexico, as well as bilateral and regional cooperative efforts between Mexico and other national and subnational jurisdictions.

> TERM: This position is a six-month to one-year, term position (to be determined before employment offer is finalized). Upon conclusion of the term, the term may be renewed based on funding and programmatic need.

> KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
> Under the direction of the Director for Latin America in the Global Climate Program:
> 
> ·         Assist with timely in-house policy analyses for Global Climate Program staff and leadership, EDF executive team, and other programs throughout the organization, as appropriate;
> ·         Conduct policy research online and through cooperative efforts with EDF partners and collaborators in Mexico and elsewhere.
> ·         Help write and/or edit white papers summarizing research for internal discussions, and for broader public audiences in English and Spanish, including public communications such as presentations, Op-Ed pieces, and blog posts;
> ·         Prepare information to respond to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders;
> ·         In conjunction with development staff, participates in developing funding proposals and interim reports, when appropriate;
> ·         Apply excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills in preparing correspondence and reports, responding to requests for information, and helping to coordinate activities among team members and partners in English and Spanish, as needed.
> ·         Provide content and organizational support to co-convened meetings, events, and initiatives with civil society, government, and other partners in Mexico and California, including, as-needed, traveling to Mexico City for events or meetings;
> ·         Support strategy development and execution to our broader Mexico work in cooperation with our Mexico City-based staff and consultants;
> ·         Work with internet communications staff to maintain up-to-date information on websites, as-needed

> QUALIFICATIONS
> The minimum qualifications for the position are:
> ·         Undergraduate degree in environmental science, natural sciences, economics, law or related fields. At least three years of related professional experience in a policy or environmental field, OR a Master’s Degree in a related field with some professional experience.
> ·         Spanish fluency strongly preferred. English fluency and Spanish proficiency required.
> ·         Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to think strategically and carry out responsibilities in a timely and effective manner ;
> ·         Exceptional personal organization and attention to detail.
> ·         Excellent research and analytical skills and an interest in performing rigorous analysis in support of highly visible work.
> ·         Comfortable working with numbers in climate, energy, and economics contexts.
> ·         Excellent written and oral communication skills;
> ·         Ability to work with colleagues and partners of varied backgrounds and experience.
> ·         Ability to work independently and to support a multi-disciplinary team, using independent judgment required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
> ·         Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Excel, Word, Power Point, and Internet research.
