/Project background/
We are looking for an experienced and outstanding postdoctoral 
researcher who is passionate about hydrologic modeling within 
agricultural watersheds, a project jointly funded by USDA and EPA. The 
project is to model the fate and transport of pesticide and nitrogen in 
surface waters and to quantify exposure risks in the California’s 
Central Valley using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model and 
the Annualised Agricultural Non-Point Source Pollution Model (AnnAGNPS) 
model.

/The position//
/The successful candidate will work with Professor Minghua Zhang at the 
Department of Land, Air and Water Resources, UC Davis in Davis, 
California. The position is for one year, with a possible extension to a 
second and third year. Salary is based on the University of California 
Academic Salary Scale, in accordance with current Postdoctoral Scholar 
Salary scale. A full-benefits package consisting of medical/dental and 
vision plans will also be offered.

/Qualifications/
• Skilled in hydrologic modeling using SWAT or other watershed-scale models
• Proficient in model calibration, sensitivity and uncertainty analysis
• Experience with pesticide exposure and risk assessment
• Strong scientific writing skills
• Experience with GIS analysis using ArcGIS and spatial database (e.g. 
PostGIS)
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R)
