Dear List members,

We have two exciting isotope based FULLY funded PhDs, as part of the
recently funded NERC ‘Changing Arctic Ocean’ Programme. These projects are
part of the University of Liverpool led consortium ‘Can we detect change
in the Arctic Ocean?’ and are based in the Earth, Atmosphere and Ocean
Doctoral Training Programme (DTP) run between the Universities of
Manchester and Liverpool and the National Oceanography Centre.

The two PhDs are:

*Potential contribution of terrestrial Organic Matter to the Arctic food
web*
Supervised by Dr. Bart van Dongen (University of Manchester) and Professor
George Wolff (University of Liverpool)

and

*The impact of climate change on Arctic food webs: a molecular approach *
Supervised by Drs Rachel Jeffreys and Claire Mahaffey (University of
Liverpool) and Dr Rowena Stern, Dr Claudia Castellani. SAFHOS (Sir Alistair
Hardy Foundation for Ocean Sciences)

Both PhDs will involve work in the Liverpool Isotope Facility for
Environmental Research lab, see here for more information:
