The Agronomy Department at the University of Florida (agronomy.ifas.ufl.edu<http://agronomy.ifas.ufl.edu>) invites applications for a 12-month tenure-accruing position that will be 60% teaching and 40% research, and located on the main UF campus in Gainesville (FL). This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an expected start date no later than August 1, 2018. This position will complement highly collaborative agroecology faculty programs addressing agronomic, economic, and ecological resilience in global agroecosystems to complement our preeminent agroecology program at the University of Florida.

We are looking for candidates with experience working in transdisciplinary teams to investigate global change issues in agroecosystems using a variety of approaches that may include remote sensing and systems analysis at large-scales. The successful candidate will also be highly motivated to engage in teaching activities by helping with existing courses in agroecology and developing new graduate and undergraduate courses that will address gaps in our agroecology curriculum. Courses could include data management and analysis of complex systems in the plant sciences, quantitative modeling and simulation of agroecosystem dynamics, remote sensing of agricultural landscapes, and creative methods to address global change issues in agriculture, such as climate change, carbon and nutrient cycling, and land management.

A doctorate in Agronomy, or a related field is required. For full consideration, candidates should apply by January 20, 2018 using the following link:
