Tenure-track faculty position in Physics / Environmental Studies (Earth
 Scientist)


St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota


The Department of Physics and Department of Environmental Studies at St. Olaf
College invite applications for jointly-appointed tenure track position in
Earth Science at the assistant professor level, to begin on Aug. 15, 2017.
Responsibilities will involve teaching core courses at all levels in
Physics and Environmental Studies. This will include Global Climate Change
and an introduction to earth science course. The successful candidate will
demonstrate potential for developing a research program in the earth
sciences amenable to participation by undergraduate students and
demonstrating potential for external funding. We are particularly
interested in applicants who will contribute to the departments’ commitment
to increasing access and opportunities for populations which are currently
under-represented in areas such as Physics, Earth Science, and
Environmental Studies. Start-up funds are available. Post-doctoral
experience and/or prior teaching experience is desirable, and a PhD in an
Earth Science field by Sept. 1, 2017 is required. Evaluation of completed
applications will begin on January 20, 2017.


St. Olaf Faculty will be at the AGU 2016 Fall Meeting in San Francisco and
can arrange to meet potential applicants to discuss the position. Contact
