Alberta Environment and Parks, Environmental Monitoring and Science Division is looking to fill two Executive Manager positions through open competitions. The jobs are:

1. Executive Director Integrated Environmental Analytics and Prediction (Id.#1039298) In this position you will have custody of provincial ambient environment data covering water, air, land and biodiversity. Your branch team will manage the life cycle of environmental data, including acquisition, quality assurance of data management processes, and governance of data systems. A recognized scientific expert and an integrative, cross-disciplinary thinker, you will lead complex evaluation and analytical processes that underpin the reporting of current cumulative environmental effects, and the prediction of future environmental conditions in Alberta.

2. Executive Director, Indigenous Knowledge, Community Monitoring and Citizen Science (Id.#1039295) In this position you will provide strategic leadership in the design and delivery of programs that involve indigenous communities, community organizations, and citizen volunteers in environmental science and monitoring. With guidance from an Indigenous Wisdom Advisory Panel, you will build respectful relationships and work collaboratively with indigenous peoples to develop strategies and initiatives that incorporate traditional ecological knowledge into EMSD programs. Your team will also engage and capture the knowledge of Albertans who are active in environmental management (naturalists, academics, students and other citizen scientists) and ensure the active participation of these groups in program planning and delivery. A trusted and collaborative leader, you will advance an enhanced, holistic monitoring system that is built on science and international best practices in consultation with Alberta indigenous people and communities.

Both Executive Manager positions offer a salary range of $125,318 - $164,691 ($4,801.47-$6,310.03 bi-weekly). Please direct anyone you know who may be qualified, or who might know of qualified candidates, to the GoA Jobs Site at: https://www.jobs.alberta.ca/, for the complete Job profiles and directions on how to apply for positions with the GoA. Please note that although the positions are listed as being located in Edmonton, I believe there may be a possibility to work in Calgary as well (at least for position #1).

Thank you.
