*Job Duties:*
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 
Professional Assistant Professor of Geology and Chemistry in the 
Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences. The position will 
begin September 2016. Area of expertise is flexible, but applicants with 
experience teaching introductory courses in geology and chemistry and 
upper-level courses in geology and geochemistry are encouraged to apply. 
The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate the Geology 
Program and introductory Chemistry labs, and teach introductory and 
upper-level Geology courses and laboratories. The position is not a 
tenure track faculty position but a long term teaching position in the 
department. Appointment will be 9 months. Additional regular full or 
part time summer assignment is expected and will result in additional 
compensation.

*Qualifications:*
Requirements include a Ph.D. at the time of hire in Geology or a closely 
related field.

*Preferred Qualifications:*
Desired qualifications for the position include experience teaching 
Geology courses and laboratories, leading Geology field excursions, 
coordination of multiple teaching labs, an overall record of effective 
teaching and introducing teaching innovations and an interest in 
activities leading to improving the understanding of Geology for our 
students and the university community at large.
