Lecturer salary £38,896 - £46,414, potential progression to £52,219 a 
year. Senior Lecturer/Reader salary £47,801- £55,389, potential 
progression to £72,224 a year. The successful candidate will be 
appointed at the appropriate grade according to their experience and 
qualifications.

The University of Birmingham is continuing to make strategic investments 
across its research base in the School of Geography, Earth and 
Environmental Sciences. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior 
Lecturer in Persistent Organic Pollutants/Emerging Contaminants. 
Applications are invited from candidates to strengthen further and 
expand our activities in the area of persistent organic pollutants 
(POPs) and related emerging organic contaminants. These currently span a 
wide range of “Stockholm POPs”, candidate POPs, pharmaceuticals and 
personal care products, and encompass the study of processes spanning 
emission sources, environmental behaviour, through to human exposure and 
metabolism.
