GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, research division 
“Ocean Circulation and Climate Dynamics” is offering a

*PhD position*

starting in July 2016 withthe possibility to attain a doctoral degree in 
natural sciences.

The position is within the Emmy Noether group “AVeSH – A new Threat to 
the Stratospheric Ozone Layer from Anthropogenic very short-lived 
Halocarbons (VSLH)” in the field of Ocean-Atmosphere Chemistry-Climate 
Interactions. The PhD position will focus on the release of VSLH from 
tropical seaweed farming in order to assess current and future emissions 
of man-made oceanic VSLH, their multisided impact on atmospheric 
chemistry and physics, and in particular their potential to prolong 
stratospheric ozone depletion.*
