Subject: Assistant professor - Global Environmental Change

The Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht=20
University (the Netherlands) invites applications for a tenure-track=20
faculty position in Global Environmental Change at the Assistant=20
Professor level. We are searching for a highly motivated scholar in the=20=

fields of environmental sciences, sustainable development and global=20
change who fits within our interdisciplinary research group.=20

The Assistant Professor will contribute to the development of the=20
portfolio of global change research by contributing to the research=20
program of the Environmental Science Group which centers around global=20=

change and ecosystems. Your own research theme in this field is well-
matched with the research interests of the group and has possibilities=20=

to link this with integrated assessment modelling (IAM). The Assistant=20=

Professor will strengthen this research line by scaling up and linking=20=

environmental science models in his/her discipline to the IAM framework.=20=

The latter research theme is performed in close collaboration with PBL=20=

Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency.

The position will be affiliated with the Environmental Sciences group,=20=

one of the four research groups of the Copernicus Institute of=20
Sustainable Development. The Environmental Sciences group is a dynamic,=20=

ambitious and internationally leading team of researchers with a focus=20=

on fundamental and policy-oriented research of environmental processes,=20=

from local to global levels. The Copernicus Institute has been evaluated=20=

in an 2014 international review as the highest ranked research institute=20=

in environmental sciences in the Netherlands. Since then, the institute=20=

has intensified its efforts in maintaining its leading position, among=20=

others by opening up positions at our Institute for international=20
scholars and by developing new, internationally oriented teaching=20
programs.
