A Graduate Research Assistantship is available in water resources and
ecohydrology at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, for a student
interested in a Master of Science degree commitment. Likely research themes
include, but are not limited to: hyporheic exchange and its ecological
effects, coupled research on land use and land cover change and water
resources vulnerability (water quality and water quantity). Both topics may
include field experimentation, computational modeling, and statistical
analysis. Specific research topic(s) will ultimately be determined by the
accepted student in consultation with supervisor Dr. Bangshuai Han.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Must have strong mathematics skills and strong physical science or
engineering background,
familiarity with hydrology, strong writing and communication skills and
research experience.
Prefer a candidate with numerical modeling experience, programming
experience,
independent field research and some exposure to aquatic biogeochemistry or
soil physics, or
remote sensing and GIS analysis.

Benefits and How to Apply

The position will begin in August 2017. Funding of graduate tuition, and
fulltime stipend is available for two years. Muncie is a pleasant small
city located one hour drive from Indianapolis. Interested candidates should
