The Department of Geography at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in applied GIS. The successful candidate will apply geospatial technologies to solve contemporary societal/environmental problems. The candidate will need to sustain an active funded research program and supervise graduate students at the masters and doctoral level. Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate/graduate courses in GIS, spatial statistics, and her/his specialty. The department standard teaching load is 3 courses a year. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in Geography or a related field by the time of appointment and a demonstrated capacity for research.
