The Department of Applied Ecology at North Carolina State University invi=

applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Urban Ecology at the
rank of Assistant Professor.  We are seeking an individual who studies bo=
th
pattern and process in urban ecosystems.  The successful applicant can ha=
ve
a background in population, community, or ecosystem ecology in terrestria=
l
or aquatic environments.  We are especially interested in candidates with=

demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary research and scholarship
combining the natural and social sciences for the management of multiple
ecosystem services in urban landscapes.  Opportunities for collaboration
exist across departments and colleges as well as with the Southeast Clima=
te
Science Center, the North Carolina Museum of Sciences, and the Office of
Public Science.  Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and=
/or
graduate courses in the applicant=92s area of research expertise, with 30=

effort in outreach. The successful candidate will be expected to develop =
a
vigorous, extramurally funded research program that enhances existing
strengths in Urban Ecology at NCSU.  Post-doctoral and teaching experienc=
