Jasper Solutions <http://jaspersolutions.com/> is working on a proposal for
the NOAA/NASA GOES-R program <http://www.goes-r.gov/> and the management of
data for NESDIS <http://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/>. The GOES-R series (GOES-R,
S, T, & U) will extend the availability of the operational GOES
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geostationary_Operational_Environmental_Satellite>
satellite
system through 2036.

We are looking for 5 to 10 Scientists in each of the positions detailed
below (with backgrounds in Remote Sensing and/or GIS), that would start the
job from August or September, or as soon as the contract is awarded
(guaranteed before October 2016). The majority of the positions will
located in Silver Spring, Maryland (DC Metro Area), with positions also
available in El Segundo, California (suburb of Los Angeles) and San
Antonio, Texas.

Scientists would support priorities of Technical Acquisition, Instrument
Systems, and the Observatory needs of the GOES-R program.

Scientist 3: (recommended for experienced Masters or PhD students/graduates)

Performs advanced scientific programming and numerical analysis to solve
physical problems; analyzes, designs, codes, and documents complex
applications for large-scale computers appropriate to scientific projects;
designs and implements databases and supports the introduction of computer
aided software engineering methodology and tools; provides support to
establish and manage a customized, integrated hardware/software environment
to establish and manage a customized, integrated hardware/software
environment. Lead small task teams occasionally. Requires at least 3 years
experience in the field or in a related area.

Scientist 2: (recommended for entry level Master's or experienced
Bachelor's students)

Supports or directly analyzes, designs, codes, and documents complex
applications to develop remote sensing algorithms for environmental
parameter measurements. Performs technical tasks using both standard and
nonstandard analysis, design, and programming methods and techniques.
Analyzes problems in terms of such factors as user requirements, input data
and form, output data form, available computer configuration, processing
turnaround requirements, input and output checking, and overall
problem-schedule requirements. Requires 1 year experience in the field or
in a related area.

Scientist 1: (must at least possess a Bachelor's)

Performs routine technical tasks using standard programming methods and
techniques. Develops segments of programs using program languages. Develops
test routines and data. Test all codes personally produced, and assists in
the testing of the total program, documenting in standardized terminology,
all procedures used. Provides theoretical analysis, where required, to
assist in solving problems. Requires 0-1 year experience in the field or in
a related area.

These scientists would be tasked specifically to GOES-R systems,
applications and legacy GOES spacecraft (preceding missions).

All positions have the option to be hired up to 4 years initially with
additional 3 years optional.
