Tenure-track Assistant Professor - Geoscience/Biogeochemistry


The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of New Brunswick 
invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to 
begin July 1, 2016.

The successful applicant will focus in one or more of the following 
areas of research: paleontology, paleoecology, biogeochemistry, 
biostratigraphy, and geomicrobiology - including the study of 
extremophile life forms. The successful candidate must have a completed 
PhD with a prior undergraduate degree in geoscience, a record of 
publishing in quality peer-reviewed journals, and an ability to garner 
external funding to support a research program and graduate students. 
The person is required to have a commitment to excellence in the 
teaching of undergraduate courses in biogeology, earth history, field 
school and introductory earth sciences. Preference will be given to 
candidate's able assist in the curation of paleontologic samples for the 
Quartermain Earth Science Centre and/or who could provide cover for 
teaching a soft-rock or Environmental Impact Assessment course.
