Physics Today, the flagship publication of the American Institute of 
Physics, is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to craft and 
implement both an editorial strategy and vision for Physics Today Online 
(PTOL). The Online Content Editor will collaborate with the 
Editor-in-Chief and others to deliver a lively and engaging website and 
oversee all online interactions, including social media and other 
electronic products. The successful candidate will develop, write, 
acquire, edit, and produce material in a variety of formats, suitable 
for posting on PTOL. Other responsibilities will include interfacing 
with the entire Physics Today editorial and production staff, engaging 
with online communities, assisting with budget preparation, networking 
with the scientific community, and performing other highly visible tasks 
within both AIP and the community.



Qualifications:

An advanced degree in physics or a related science as well as 3-5 years 
of experience producing online content are required; management 
experience is a plus. Must have experience in digital multimedia and 
demonstrate strong writing and editing skills. The successful candidate 
will be able to multitask, pay attention to details, and meet deadlines. 
A strong interest in and knowledge of the physical sciences community at 
large are a must.
