The Discipline of Civil, Surveying and Environmental Engineering at the
University of Newcastle has a vacancy for a full-time three-year academic
research and teaching position at the Lecturer Level. The group is seeking
a motivated and highly enthusiastic individual with an ability to build on
the discipline’s research excellence, and capacity to teach Water Resources
and Environmental Engineering topics.

Within the discipline, the research performance of Civil Engineering has
been consistently ranked by the Australian Research Council as one of the
top two in the country (achieving the top qualification in the last two ERA
national research assessments), and by the QS World University Rankings by
Subject in the top 50 internationally. The Environmental Engineering and
Water Resources Research Group within this discipline is highly successful
and has an outstanding track record in publications, securing competitive
research funding, and PhD completions.

Ideal applicants are expected to have an environmental/water engineering or
closely related background, preferably with strong modelling, remote
sensing and/or analytical skills and a focus in eco-geomorphology,
eco-hydrology, or closely associated hydrology and water management areas.

Applicants with strong track research records in other areas are also
strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional Salary Information:
Academic Level B - $89,878 to $106,731 per annum, plus a generous employer
superannuation contribution of up to 17%.
