Hi,

My name is Wendy and I am with the Center for Collaborative Conservation at Colorado State University. We are hoping you can help us get the word out on a job posting we have available.

The Center for Collaborative Conservation at Colorado State University is seeking an innovative leader and manager to become the founding Director of the Colorado Conservation Exchange. The Exchange Director will be housed in an office at the Center for Collaborative at Colorado State University, and will have administrative support from a part-time administrator that the successful candidate will recruit. While based at the CCC, the position will be co-supervised by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the Center for Collaborative Conservation (CCC). The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. The Center for Collaborative Conservation advances the art and science of understanding and achieving conservation through collaboration to sustain people and the natural communities they depend upon. The Colorado Conservation Exchange is a nascent watershed investment fund, which is an innovative tool to strongly accelerate investment in watershed health and wildfire risk reduction in Colorado and potentially across the American West. The Exchange builds on the success of both previous and ongoing watershed health efforts, but takes a more strategic, proactive and future-oriented approach. Our goal is to dramatically accelerate on-the-ground restoration, gain efficiencies by working across multiple watersheds, link across public and private lands, and expand the pool of investors by developing markets for ecosystem services like water quality, carbon, and wildlife habitat. We are at the end of our design phase and now propose to conduct a meaningful test of the Exchange, while also further developing its market infrastructure and the critical tools needed for full implementation.

The Colorado Conservation Exchange is currently hosted by the Center for Collaborative Conservation, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. The Exchange is led by a Working Group, which includes a diverse group of representatives from non-profits, government entities, private sector companies and a university.
CSU is an EO/EA/AA employer and conducts background checks on all final candidates.

Best,

Wendy Pace
