The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) is pl=

graduate fellowships to support incoming Ph.D. students starting fall sem=
ester, 2015. The=20
Presidential Fellowships are merit-based and designed to support recruitm=
ent of outstanding=20
students into the UMCES graduate programs interested in working with any =
faculty member. Up to=20
three years stipend, health benefits, and tuition will be covered.=20

UMCES is Maryland=92s premier research institution aimed at advancing sci=
entific knowledge of the=20
environment. UMCES scientists conduct research at four laboratories: the =
Appalachian Laboratory=20
in the mountains of western Maryland, the Chesapeake Biological Laborator=
y on the western shore=20
of Chesapeake Bay, the Horn Point Laboratory on the Eastern Shore, and th=
e Institute of Marine and=20
Environmental Technology in Baltimore.

UMCES faculty members advise and support more than 80 graduate students a=
nnually through=20
three collaborative Ph.D. programs: Marine Estuarine Environmental Scienc=
es, Environmental=20
Toxicology, and the Graduate Program in Life Sciences.
