> The Department of Geography at the University of Lethbridge invites
applications for a probationary (tenure-track) position at the rank of
Assistant Professor to begin 1 July 2015, subject to budgetary approval.

> We are seeking a physical geographer with a strong research program or
outstanding scholarly potential. Field of specialization may include
Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, or Geomorphology. The ability
to offer introductory, intermediate and advanced courses in Physical
Geography is required. The capability to offer some combination of courses
in Environmental Sciences, Environmental and Resource Management, Soils,
Hydrology, Climate Change or Field Techniques would be assets. The ability
to teach GIS courses is also desirable.

> A Ph.D. is required (or near completion) in Geography or a related
discipline. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a
continuing research program and to seek external research funding. New
faculty members are eligible for University of Lethbridge start-up funds in
support of research and scholarly activities.

> The Geography Department has an enthusiastic group of faculty members
that includes physical and human geographers, environmental scientists and
archaeologists with diverse and active research programs. Faculty are also
actively involved in multidisciplinary majors in Archaeology and Geography,
Environmental Science, GIS and Computer Science, Remote Sensing,
Agricultural Studies, Urban and Regional Studies and Canadian Studies. The
department has an established graduate program, and is well equipped for
research.
