Faculty position in Water Resources (Coastal) Engineering


The Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering Department (CECE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking an outstanding candidate for a Water Resources Engineering faculty position. This is an open rank tenured/tenure-track faculty position with preference for candidates who have academic experience and an exceptional track record in Water Resources Engineering or a closely related field. The anticipated start date is August 2015. Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Civil or Environmental Engineering with emphasis on Water Resources Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment. We are interested in candidates who will advance the state-of-the-art in the area of coastal hydrodynamics and sea level rise. Applicants must have demonstrated an ability to perform high-impact and high-demand research, and develop a creative and independent research program that would lead to strong extramurally-funded research and national/international recognition. UCF offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering; both undergraduate degrees are ABET accredited. The department houses active research laboratories and institutes, including the Coastal Hydroscience Analysis, Modeling & Predictive Simulations (CHAMPS) Laboratory and the Stormwater Management Academy.
