    Assistant/Associate Professor in Climate/Atmospheric Sciences at
    Arizona State University


The School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning (SGSUP) at 
Arizona State University invites applications for a tenure-track 
position in Atmospheric Sciences and Climatology at the Assistant or 
Associate Professor rank. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate 
with experience. Anticipated start date is August 2015. We seek a 
scholar in Atmospheric Sciences, Geography or a related physical science 
field who will develop an independently funded research program 
supporting the School's mission of creating and sharing new knowledge in 
the fields of meteorology and climatology. The successful candidate will 
be expected to (1) develop a recognized research program in 
climate/atmospheric sciences, (2) attract external funding, (3) mentor 
graduate students, and (4) participate in the School's teaching mission 
at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates capable of 
developing collaborative relationships in research and teaching are of 
particular interest. The successful candidate will have the opportunity 
to contribute to the proposed Climate Research Center (CRC) at ASU. The 
CRC mission will be to generate basic, applied, and solutions-oriented 
climate research in climatology. Although this position is in SGSUP, the 
CRC will be positioned jointly between the SGSUP and the Wrigley School 
of Sustainability.
