Lafayette College
Environmental Studies

Lafayette College invites applications for a one year visiting assistant
professor position in Environmental Studies beginning in the 2014-2015
academic year.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will teach in and continue to
foster the development of a new degree program in Environmental Studies.
The candidate should be capable of teaching an introductory course in an
interdisciplinary Environmental Studies major, an intermediate level course
in Environmental Policy, and intermediate and advanced courses in his or
her area of expertise. Candidates with teaching and research interests in
the social sciences or humanities are particularly desirable. Expertise in
environmental law is also desirable, however, we welcome applications from
a broad range of specialties in environmental studies.

The teaching load at Lafayette College for visiting assistant professors is
currently three courses each semester.

Lafayette College is committed to creating a diverse community, one that is
inclusive and responsive, and is supportive of each and all of its faculty,
students, and staff. All members of the College community share a
responsibility for creating, maintaining, and developing a learning
environment in which difference is valued, equity is sought, and
inclusiveness is practiced. Lafayette College is an equal opportunity
employer and encourages applications from women and minorities.

Prospective applicants with inquiries about the position can contact Steven
Mylon, Chair of the Programs in Environmental Science and Studies and Chair
of the Search Committee at mylons at lafayette.edu or 610.330.5825.
The starting date is Fall Semester 2014, and applications will be accepted
until the position is filled. Candidates must submit a letter of
application, a current CV, sample course syllabi (including those for
Introduction to Environmental Studies and Environmental Policy) and three
letters of reference to Dr. Steven Mylon. All application materials must
