ROLE of the POSITION
The School of Life Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 9-month=
,=20
tenure-track faculty position in Landscape Restoration Ecology at the lev=
el=20
of Assistant Professor, commencing Fall 2014. Preference will be given to=
=20
applicants with research interests in landscape restoration ecology or=20=

ecosystem management using approaches which could include field experimen=
ts,=20
spatially explicit ecological modeling and/or remote sensing. The success=
ful=20
applicant is expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research=20=

program that involves mentoring of doctoral students, and helps to build =
our=20
growing national reputation. The successful candidate is also expected to=
=20
teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to=20=

participate in departmental service activities. Applicants must have a Ph=
.D.=20
in Ecology or a closely related field from an accredited college or=20
university. Post-doctoral experience is preferred. The successful candida=
te=20
should have expertise in state of the art analytical and/or computational=
=20
techniques in their field of interest. This position is initially funded=20=

through NSF EPSCoR and the selected individual will be expected to conduc=
t=20
environmental research associated with solar energy development in the ar=
id=20
West.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates are required to have an earned a doctorate in ecology or a=20
closely related discipline from a nationally accredited college or=20
university at the time of hiring; strong preference will be given to=20
candidates with demonstrated experiences in ecological processes at the=20=

landscape level.=20=20

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.=20=20
