Stanford University's Center on Food Security and the Environment seeks 
to hire a Social Science Research Assistant who will work under the 
direction of Professor David Lobell. The successful candidate will 
assist in development of an automated satellite-based crop productivity 
mapper, apply this product to several regions of interest, and also 
assist in processing of high resolution imagery to be used for impact 
assessment in Africa. Extensive experience programming and familiarity 
with R is required. Some knowledge of remote sensing is desired. The 
position will require a very organized and creative person who is 
capable of writing efficient code and working with large datasets, and 
who is interested in applying their technical skills to the issue of
