Dear colleagues,

please forward the following PhD opportunity in the field of hydrogeology
and stable isotope geochemistry to interested graduate students. Review of
applications will begin *immediately* until position is filled.

regards,
Robert

PhD Opportunity

A PhD studentship will be available at GeoZentrum Nordbayern
(Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany) in the field
of hydrogeology and geochemistry. The successful candidate will investigate
influences and geochemistry of preferential flow on carbon transport and
changes between dissolved inorganic-, dissolved organic- and particulate
organic carbon with geochemical and stable isotope methods. Results will be
combined with advanced modeling of preferential flow with a partner group
at the Czech Technical University in Prague.

The candidate is expected to hold a Master degree of EU level in
geosciences or a related field and should have solid background in
geochemistry.

Knowledge of stable isotope geochemistry, chemistry of organic matter and
turnover and insights into hydrogeological modeling and tracer applications
would be an advantage. Firm knowledge of English and aims to publish
findings in peer-reviewed literature are required. The ability to
communicate in Czech and/or German would be an advantage. Further
requirements include a valid driving license, willingness to travel between
the Czech Republic and Erlangen as well as interest in field- and
laboratory work.

The position will be filled as soon as possible for a duration of 3 years
with a salary of German TVL E13 at 65%.

Applications are welcome as one coherent pdf file to
