Maplecroft is looking to recruit a dynamic candidate (up to principal level) with a passion for conducting research on environmental and climate change topics and communicating key issues to a business audience. Depending on experience, the role may involve liaison with leading multinational corporations in sectors such as oil and gas, mining, financial services, and food and beverage. The role is based in our environment and climate change team but would involve working in close conjunction with Maplecroft's multidisciplinary teams of human rights experts, political risk analysts and regional specialists.

Assignments may include:
. Conducting research on global, regional and country-specific environmental and climate change risks faced by business
. Contributing towards briefings and reports on the implications of these risks for business, including impacts on corporate objectives, investments, supply chains and reputations 
. Writing articles for Maplecroft's own daily analysis platform and for external print media
. Contributing towards presentations to global audiences on a range of environmental and climate change-related issues and their impacts on commercial activities, governments, humanitarian affairs and communities  

Essential requirements:
. Excellent written communication skills
. Strong understanding of environmental and/or climate change issues
. Qualitative research skills
. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment of robust peer review and continuous improvement
. Minimum two years professional experience
. University degree

Desirable attributes:
. Specialist knowledge within one or more environmental disciplines (e.g. water, climate change, conservation, etc.)
. Experience working with clients from Maplecroft's key sectors
. Quantitative research and data analysis skills
. Masters or PhD
. Good time management
. Project management experience
