The Earth Institute is looking for a person who is part scientist, part economist, and part diplomat to manage the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project. This is a great opportunity for someone working in climate policy with a recent PhD or an MA with a few years experience, including a chance to work with Jeffrey Sachs. The work involves coordinating the efforts of modeling teams from twelve major GHG emitting countries, both industrialized and developing, who are developing deep low carbon scenarios for their countries in advance of COP-21 in Paris in 2015. The immediate focus is preparing a major report for the UN secretary general, to be featured at the UN world leaders summit this fall.

Please see attached position announcement. For more on the project and its sponsor, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), see http://unsdsn.org/what-we-do/deep-decarbonization-pathways/. CVs and expressions of interest can be sent directly to SDSN Associate Director Emmanuel Guerin, emmanuel.guerin at unsdsn.org.
