*The Department of Civil Engineering is looking to appoint an exceptional
individual to enhance its strength in multidisciplinary water and
environmental engineering.* This position is part of an expanding water
research community in both the department and across the University. We
seek a candidate with international leadership potential in the broader
field of water resources to complement existing strengths in water and
environmental engineering (

*Candidates
with expertise in integrated water resource management; water resources
systems analysis and groundwater modelling are especially welcome. *You
will be expected to contribute to research, knowledge transfer and teaching
at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The University of Bristol provides excellent opportunities for
multidisciplinary collaboration, which are supported through the Cabot
Institute (http://www.bris.ac.uk/cabot/). This Institute seeks to address
the challenge of living with global environmental uncertainty through
collaborative science, social science and engineering research. Supporting
resources include a free High Performance Computing facility and a large
recently refurbished hydraulics laboratory with potential for further
development. Both the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Civil
Engineering enjoy a high international standing in teaching and research,
and continue to attract the highest caliber students.

This post is offered as a full time, open ended contract.
