MS or PhD assistantship: Dust and highway safety in the western US

The University of Tulsa department of Geosciences is pleased to announce a new fully-funded MSc or PhD position investigating the effects of atmospheric dust on the highway safety in the western US. Graduate research and teaching assistantship is available for 4 years starting in January 2015 (stipend of ~$21,000 per annum and paid tuition). Candidates should have spatial and quantitative analysis skills such as experience in GIS and remote sensing, and be highly motivated for field work. Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential. Competence in atmospheric science, soil science, and wind erosion modeling are desirable but not required. For PhD applicants, an MSc degree at the time of application is not required although is an advantage.
