The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Boston College
invites applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Petrology
to start in Fall 2014. The successful candidate will be expected to develop
an externally funded research program integrated with excellence in
teaching within the geological sciences and environmental geoscience
curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching
responsibilities will include Mineralogy, Igneous and Metamorphic
Petrology, and other courses in the candidate’s area of research expertise.
 The successful candidate should have a commitment to integrate with
existing department research expertise in structural geology, sedimentary
geology, igneous and metamorphic terrane analysis, and
geochronology/geochemistry.  Candidates with a strong field emphasis in
research and teaching are particularly desired. This is an open-rank
position, and applications at all levels are invited. The Department is
