We have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher to join us for a European project:

Research Assistant or Research Associate in Physically-based Catchment Modelling (ACAD100497)

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to evaluate physically-based models of catchment scale hydrological processes in different regions across Europe. The project will use multi-objective analysis to explore the level of physically-based model complexity that is necessary in the context of integrated catchment management. A PhD and/or post-doctoral experience in hydrology or a related discipline (e.g. civil engineering or environmental science) with a focus on numerical modelling of environmental processes is essential. Strong programming skills and experience with high performance computing and uncertainty analysis/optimization are desirable.

Profs Thorsten Wagener, Dawei Han and Jim Freer, as part of the EU-funded SWITCH-ON project, will supervise the position. This 3-year PDRA position is based in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, UK.

It is expected that interviews will be held during the week commencing 25 November 2013.

Further information available at www.bristol.ac.uk/jobs (search for ACAD100497). The possible salary range is £30,424 - £38,522.
