Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS), within
the College of Science, Purdue University, invites applications for a
tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the
area of stable isotope geochemistry to begin August, 2014. To complement
and expand existing EAPS strengths in stable isotope biogeochemistry and
atmospheric chemistry, meteorology, climate science, and geodynamics, we
seek candidates applying stable isotope measurements to investigate the
links between large-scale processes and phenomena occurring or observed at
various scales, including but not limited to land/atmosphere exchange of
water, carbon, sediment, and nutrients. Preference will be given to
candidates whose research involves novel approaches to working across
scales (both temporal and spatial) and/or emphasizes the integration of
observations and models with applications in the field of biogeochemistry,
atmospheric chemistry, hydrology, ecology, and climate science. Candidates
must have completed the Ph.D. in Geological Sciences, Ecological Sciences
or related field at the time of employment. The appointee is expected to
develop and maintain a vigorous, externally funded, internationally
recognized research program and to teach and mentor students at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. At Purdue, the candidate will find
complimentary and supportive colleagues whose research and teaching
endeavors are nurtured and promoted among many centers including those
within Purdue’s Discovery Park Global Sustainability Institute (
http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/sustainability/). ****
