 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN (UIUC). The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for one full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty position; all ranks will be considered. The Department seeks to expand its expertise in emerging areas that are increasingly interdisciplinary to address critical global challenges with societal, national and international dimensions through innovative education and research. All sub-disciplines of civil and environmental engineering will be considered.

The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an internationally recognized research program, to contribute fully to teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses, and to provide service to the profession. The successful candidate is also expected to develop interactions with faculty from other areas, programs, and centers within CEE, as well as other College of Engineering disciplines and across Campus. Opportunities exist to participate in related CEE and campus-wide communities, such as the Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory, Prairie Research Institute, Illinois Center for Transportation, Mid-America Earthquake Center and the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) site, the National Rail Transportation Center, the Information Trust Institute, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, the Institute of Genomic Biology, the Science and Technology Center on Advanced Materials for Water Purification Systems, as well as nine other Engineering Departments. Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in an appropriate field. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
