FULL PROFESSOR in FOREST SOIL ECOLOGY
The Universit=E9 du Qu=E9bec en Outaouais invites applications for a tenu=
re=20
track faculty position in the D=E9partement des sciences naturelles in th=
e
area of forest soil ecology.

The successful candidate will conduct research in the role of biotic soil=
=20
factors in forest nutrient cycling and availability. Research fields may=20=

include pedogenesis, ecology of the rhizosphere and plant-microorganisms=20=

interactions. The successful applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in a=20=

relevant field. Preference will be given to applicants with a post-
doctoral experience. Research experience in the temperate deciduous fores=
t
ecosystem is considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with the=20=

ability to work closely with other team colleagues in the development of=20=

the new D=E9partement des sciences naturelles. The successful candidate w=
ill=20
also participate in the scientific activities of the Institute of=20
Temperate Forest Sciences (ISFORT, www.isfort.uqo.ca), a multidisciplinar=
y=20
and applied research institute located in Ripon (Qu=E9bec). The=20
successful applicant must have a strong publication record and the=20
capacity to readily develop a sustained and externally funded original=20=

research program that will contribute to the development of the institute=
.
The successful candidate is expected to show a strong research capacity=20=

and excellent teaching abilities, to be able to supervise both=20
undergraduate and graduate students, and to be committed to community=20
outreach and to the promotion and visibility of the institute, of the=20
department and of the university. The successful candidate must have a
good active knowledge of written and oral French.

Salary: As per the current collective agreement.

Campus affiliation: Gatineau.
