    Tenure-track position - Stable Isotope Geochemistry



The Department of Earth and Environmental Science, with nine tenure 
track faculty, is entering a period of growth with plans to implement a 
Ph.D. Toward that goal, the department seeks to fill two tenure-track 
faculty positions AT ANY RANK to begin in August 2014. One of the 
positions will be in the area of STABLE ISOTOPE GEOCHEMISTRY. See a 
separate advertisement for the ECOHYDROLOGY position. Applicants must 
have a Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering discipline. We welcome 
applicants with interests in the use of stable isotopes to address 
issues related to climate change, nutrient cycling and ecological 
tracers, petroleum or ore deposits, and atmospheric/groundwater 
contaminants.

The successful candidate is expected to establish a stable isotope 
laboratory and develop a multidisciplinary research program in their 
specialty supported by internal and external funding. We are seeking 
individuals who will complement and expand departmental strengths in 
geochemistry, hydrology, mineralogy, structural geology, sedimentology, 
and stratigraphy. The new faculty member will teach courses in geology 
and environmental science and be actively involved in undergraduate and 
graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) research and mentoring.
