We are hiring a short-term (8 months) research associate/technician to work
as part of a Carnegie Mellon University team to quantify methane emissions
from U.S. natural gas facilities. We are looking for a technician to aid
the collection and analysis of air quality data, including flux
measurements using tracers, methane isotopes, and infrared camera imaging.
The project involves significant travel (up to 20 weeks) in PA/WV; the
Midwest; the Southwest; and possibly other regions. The ideal candidate
would be an engineer or a scientist, with experience conducting field work
and good at working as part of a team. Experience with laser-based
instrumentation and real-time data analysis will be a plus. The project
duration is about eight months starting August 1, 2013. Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree-holders preferred; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
