Dinner/Drinks at Rock Bottom Brewery Westminster
Thursday December 1st 6 - 9 p.m.

Please join us for dinner, drinks and good conversation at the
Rock Bottom Brewery in Westminster (Directions are below).  This is an
opportunity to meet other members in the chapter outside our normal
seminar/ speaker format.  The wide time interval is intended to
accommodate those who might want to stop by on their way home from
work as well as others who have to teach  or attend classes that end
at 7.  The Chapter will provide some hors devours.   

To get an idea of the number of people who might attend, please send a
note to me at pocernic at ucar.edu with the time you might arrive.
Please do this by Wednesday, November 30th.  Don't worry, you will
receive one last reminder after Thanksgiving.

K-12 outreach? 

Is there interest within the chapter for K-12 (pre-college age kids)
outreach activities?    The ASA Council of Chapters has established
K-12 outreach as a priority for 2006.   If you think this is an
activity that the chapter should pursue, let me know and these members
can begin a separate discussion. Suggest what activities might be
interesting.  These could include a Saturday event for the students,
coordinating speakers with interested classes,  development of an
entertaining and educational lesson/ sales-pitch as to why statistics
is greatest job in the world... Be forewarned, everyone is encouraged
to submit ideas, but the follow through will include a request for
volunteers.  

I realize, in the past the chapter has contributed to a
winter workshop for AP Statistics teachers.  This event was primarily
organized by people at Cherry Creek High School - Jim Luhring and
Johanna Lewis independently of the chapter.
