<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Dr. Sharma earned her Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Indian Institute for Astrophysics where her dissertation research focused on galaxy clusters and her postdoctoral work at Ohio University focused on the hot
plasma in galaxy clusters. She then taught astronomy at Ohio University and Pennsylvania State University. Before coming to the NSF, she worked as the point of contact for space weather matters at the US Department of State Office of Space and Advanced
Technology. Mangala came to NSF in 2014 as a federal employee, and prior to joining AGS she worked in the Office of International Science and Engineering where she managed partnerships with multiple countries and coordinated engagement with multinational
science forums.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
