        style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:Arial;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Geomagnetic storms and substorms have dramatic consequences for the coupled Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere (M-I-T) system that test our system-level understanding. One particularly well-suited science target is the Sub-Auroral Polarization Stream (SAPS), understood as a band of enhanced poleward-directed (ionosphere) / radially directed (magnetosphere) electric field that has a width of one to several degrees of magnetic latitude and extends across many hours of MLT in the evening sector in regions equatorward of the auroral electron precipitation boundary. This session welcomes presentations that address ionospheric and thermospheric dynamics resulting from M-I-T coupling with specific focus on the cross-domain connections to magnetospheric drivers. Experimental results of particular interest include ground-based and satellite measurements of ionospheric densities, composition, and flows in sub-auroral regions, thermospheric response, optical imaging, and magnetospheric plasma, fields, and currents. Simulations of the coupled system are sought.  We welcome comprehensive analyses of events selected in the recent CEDAR-GEM SAPS challenge.</span></p>
