<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Times">Winds, composition,
and temperature in the thermosphere are closely coupled. Understanding this
coupling is critical to understanding the variability of the thermosphere under
different geophysical conditions and its impact on the ionosphere at various
temporal and spatial scales. This session focuses on the theoretical and
observational studies of the dynamics and thermodynamics of the thermosphere
and their effect on the ionosphere. We seek presentations covering both the
climatological variability and the weather of thermospheric winds, temperature,
composition, and density and their associated ionospheric density, composition,
and TEC changes.  Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: 1)
annual, semi-annual, and solar cycle variations of the thermosphere and
ionosphere; 2) storm-time changes of thermospheric winds, temperature and
composition; 3) storm-time ionosphere density, composition, and TEC variations
and their feedback effect on the thermosphere through ion-neutral coupling.</span></p>
