The&nbsp;UCLA&nbsp;Department&nbsp;of&nbsp;Atmospheric&nbsp;and&nbsp;Oceanic&nbsp;Sciences&nbsp;(AOS)&nbsp;seeks&nbsp;outstanding&nbsp;applicants&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;ladder&nbsp;faculty&nbsp;position&nbsp;in&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Physics.&nbsp;Preference&nbsp;is&nbsp;for&nbsp;an&nbsp;appointment&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;Assistant&nbsp;or&nbsp;Associate&nbsp;level,&nbsp;but&nbsp;more&nbsp;senior&nbsp;levels&nbsp;will&nbsp;also&nbsp;be&nbsp;considered.<br>

Candidates&nbsp;with&nbsp;research&nbsp;interests&nbsp;in&nbsp;any&nbsp;aspect(s)&nbsp;of&nbsp;Magnetospheric&nbsp;or&nbsp;Ionospheric&nbsp;Physics,&nbsp;including&nbsp;coupling&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;Thermosphere,&nbsp;are&nbsp;encouraged&nbsp;to&nbsp;apply.&nbsp;Backgrounds&nbsp;in&nbsp;theory,&nbsp;modeling,&nbsp;and/or&nbsp;observational&nbsp;analysis&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;considered.&nbsp;The&nbsp;UCLA&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Physics&nbsp;program&nbsp;is&nbsp;cooperative&nbsp;and&nbsp;interdepartmental,&nbsp;including&nbsp;faculty&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;Earth,&nbsp;Planetary,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Sciences&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Physics&nbsp;Departments.&nbsp;The&nbsp;UCLA&nbsp;Department&nbsp;of&nbsp;Atmospheric&nbsp;and&nbsp;Oceanic&nbsp;Sciences,&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;vibrant&nbsp;and&nbsp;collaborative&nbsp;department&nbsp;with&nbsp;faculty&nbsp;interested&nbsp;in&nbsp;atmospheric,&nbsp;climate,&nbsp;and&nbsp;ocean&nbsp;dynamics,&nbsp;as&nbsp;well&nbsp;as&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Physics.&nbsp;The&nbsp;ability&nbsp;of&nbsp;applicants&nbsp;to&nbsp;profit&nbsp;from,&nbsp;complement,&nbsp;and&nbsp;further&nbsp;contribute&nbsp;to&nbsp;UCLA’s&nbsp;long-standing&nbsp;strength&nbsp;in&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Physics&nbsp;will&nbsp;be
 a&nbsp;consideration&nbsp;in&nbsp;evaluation.<br>

The&nbsp;successful&nbsp;applicant&nbsp;must&nbsp;hold&nbsp;a&nbsp;Ph.D.&nbsp;(or&nbsp;equivalent)&nbsp;degree&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;time&nbsp;of&nbsp;appointment&nbsp;and&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;expected&nbsp;to&nbsp;contribute&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;teaching&nbsp;mission&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;AOS&nbsp;department,&nbsp;at&nbsp;both&nbsp;the&nbsp;graduate&nbsp;and&nbsp;undergraduate&nbsp;levels.&nbsp;He&nbsp;or&nbsp;she&nbsp;will&nbsp;also&nbsp;be&nbsp;expected&nbsp;to&nbsp;lead&nbsp;or&nbsp;develop&nbsp;a&nbsp;first&nbsp;rate&nbsp;research&nbsp;program&nbsp;in&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Physics,&nbsp;including&nbsp;interactions&nbsp;with&nbsp;others&nbsp;of&nbsp;all&nbsp;levels&nbsp;within&nbsp;the&nbsp;UCLA&nbsp;Space&nbsp;Physics&nbsp;community.&nbsp;Salary&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;commensurate&nbsp;with&nbsp;education&nbsp;and&nbsp;experience.&nbsp;The&nbsp;target&nbsp;start&nbsp;date&nbsp;is&nbsp;on&nbsp;or&nbsp;after&nbsp;July&nbsp;1,&nbsp;2015.<br>
