CEDAR email: NSF/AGS March 2021 Update - Leadership Transitions

Dear CEDAR Community,

The Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Science at National Science Foundation would like to announce a leadership transition.  Dr. Candace Major will begin a term as AGS Division Director on April 11th, 2021.  Dr. Major has been at NSF since 2008 and most recently was the Marine Geosciences Section Head in the Division of Ocean Science.  She has prior AGS experience as program director for the Paleoclimate program.  Dr. Major may be reached at cmajor at nsf.gov<mailto:cmajor at nsf.gov>.

Dr. Anjuli Bamzai, who recently completed a term as AGS Division Director, has been appointed as a Senior Science Advisor for Global Climate Change in the Directorate for Geosciences.  Dr. Bamzai will lead and coordinate GEO’s efforts in the area of Global Climate Change and Earth System Science.

We would like to thank Dr. Chungu Lu for stepping in to the acting role as AGS Division Director.  He will return to his full-time position as Program Director for Physical and Dynamic Meteorology on April 11th.
