Dear Colleague,

Your help to determine user needs and requirements for improved global geomagnetic indices (definitive, nowcast and forecast) with high-cadence (i.e. temporal resolutions of 90, 60 or 30 minutes) is highly appreciated. We would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete the following short online survey on new geomagnetic indices in the frame of the H2020 project SWAMI:

SWAMI (Space Weather Atmosphere Model and Indices) is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme from 2017 to 2020. The SWAMI objectives related to geomagnetic indices are:
Develop and evaluate improved geomagnetic indices;
Use these improved geomagnetic indices and index predictions as input for the two atmosphere models Unified Model (UM) and Drag Temperature Model (DTM);
Make the improved geomagnetic indices available to the space weather community.

Within SWAMI, an improved geomagnetic index, Hp indices (Hp90, Hp60 and Hp30), is developed which will be based on algorithms of the existing 3-hourly Kp and ap indices but will be of higher temporal resolution.

SWAMI consortium thanks you very much for your valuable contribution.

Sincerely yours,
Guram Kervalishvili
