Dear all:

We invite you to submit an abstract to the SA006 - RF Ionospheric Modification<https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm17/preliminaryview.cgi/Session24758> session at AGU Fall Meeting.

Session Description:
HAARP and the Arecibo – HF (High frequency) facility are restarting operations. HAARP is the most powerful and flexible instrument, with sweeping frequencies and multi-beam modes, located at
high-latitude. Arecibo has the largest gain up to 26 dB with the advantages of being (1) located below a mid-latitude dense ionosphere that does not vanish after sunset, and (2) collocated
next to the Arecibo incoherent scatter radar and other sensible radio and optical instrumentation.
Radio frequency (RF) ionospheric modification experiments performed at these establishments during the last two years are revealing unique and complex interactions between the powerful
HF transmissions and the natural ionosphere. Structured HF-enhanced plasma and ion lines, artificial airglow, radio scintillations are regular features in the data.

This session invites experimenters to present results and explore the potential of new operations at the two facilities, as well to potential users to explore the capabilities of the two facilities.

Deadline: August 2nd, 2017.

Best regards,

Eliana Nossa, Paul Bernhardt, William Bristow, Mike Sulzer
