Call for Abstracts for Special Sessions at IES2015 on general HF Propagation
for Ionospheric Diagnostics and System Applications (Communications,
Surveillance, Geolocation)

Dear Colleagues and prior attendees at Ionospheric Effects Symposia

IES2015 is coming up soon (May 14-16, 2015) and the
organizers (i.e., Boston University) have indicated an abstract deadline of
20 January 2015. Details and the abstract submission tool may be found on
the official website: http://ies2015.bc.edu. The good news is that the
chairpersons of IES2015 (i.e., Dr. Keith Groves and Patricia Doherty) are
allowing a few more days to those who have not yet submitted paper titles
and abstracts in certain special session categories.

In addition to a large number of subject categories that are
familiar to IES attendees in previous editions, we are proposing the
following:

HF Communication and Surveillance Technologies exploiting HF propagation
systems and techniques

Papers are specifically solicited that address HF propagation technologies
in applied systems such as communication, surveillance, direction finding,
and emitter location. Additionally, papers describing new and improved HF
methods and studies involving ionospheric diagnostics, including vertical,
forward-oblique, and backscatter sounding technologies are welcome. Doppler
sounding techniques and hybrid methods are also encouraged. Schema that can
detect and characterize ionospheric inhomogeneities of various scales and
durations, including TIDs, are emphasized since these phenomena are
increasingly important in the performance of real systems. Novel techniques
that employ the synergistic assimilation of Ionospheric data sets derived
from HF sounders and other sources, including GPS-TEC, are encouraged. It is
anticipated that more than one technical session will be organized to
accommodate the specified topics.

session chairman:

Please submit your proposed paper through the interface on the Official
Website (http://ies2015.bc.edu). Also please submit the title and author(s)
list to the attention of the session chairman (jm_good at atmc.net) no later
than February 2, 2015

We apologize if this message was sent to you in error. Please pass to an
interested colleague.
