To the CEDAR Community,

We encourage you to submit abstracts for Session #2433 Coupling of Ionospheric Processes and Conjugate Phenomena for the American Geophysical Union 2014 Fall Meeting.

Session Description: The coupling of ionospheric processes over large distances and through disparate media along magnetic flux tubes still poses a number of outstanding scientific questions. The mechanisms through which bottomside phenomena in one hemisphere influence (or do not influence) the other hemisphere, the connections between topside and bottomside fluctuations, the coupling of neutral and plasma dynamics, and the processes that result from conjugate coupling are of interest. The recent global proliferation of ground-based sensor networks combined with space-based measurements, such as those from C/NOFS, offer new data sources with the potential to make substantive advances in this long-standing field of research. We welcome presentations on the theory and observations of conjugate phenomena, from polar to equatorial regions, and hope to promote coordination between researchers to maximize the effectiveness of using global sensor resources.
