The University of New Mexico, Department of Electrical & Computer
Engineering, invites applicants for a post-doctoral position in the
field of near-Earth space weather physics with an emphasis in the
modeling development of the response of the
magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere system to dynamic pressure
enhancements.  Preference will be given to applicants with experience
with running and analyzing observations from global MHD models, such
as the Open Geospace General Circulation Model (Open GGCM), and/or
coupled thermosphere-ionosphere models, such as the NOAA Coupled
Thermosphere Ionosphere Model (CTIM).  The successful applicant will
primarily conduct research at the University of New Mexico but will
also collaborate with researchers at the Space Weather Center of
Excellence within the Space Vehicles Directorate of the Air Force
Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM.  The
initial appointment will be for one year with an option for renewal

(2) Visiting appointment in space science at Dartmouth - applications due

Visiting Young Scientist: A visiting appointment for a recent Ph.D.
scientist is available at Dartmouth College.  The appointment would be for
up to 6 months during academic year 2012-2013. The position includes
teaching in the departments of Physics and Astronomy, Engineering, or
Earth Sciences.  Extension of appointment may be possible using
appropriate sponsored research projects.  To qualify, candidates must be
U.S. citizens engaged in research related to space science, planetary
science, astrophysics, remote sensing, aerospace technology, or technology
dependent on space-based platforms.  To apply, send a 1-2 page summary of
